• Inform the manager/ senior member of staff in charge if a child has not been collected.

  • The person in charge and one other member of staff must stay behind with the child.

  • 5 minutes after the designated pick up time if the parents/carers still have not collected the child, the practitioner in charge will telephone all of the contact numbers available.

  • If no contact can be made the practitioner in charge will continue to ring the contact numbers until contact can be made.

  • In the event of no contact being made and after 6pm (the closing time of the setting) the person in charge will ring the Social Services Emergency Duty Team and advise them of the situation.

  • TWO members of staff will remain in the building until suitable arrangements have been made for the collection of the child.
